I am a mom to a rambunctious 9-year-old (aren't they all?). He keeps me on my toes and is my greatest teacher in this life. He's actually the one who made me take the leap into Nutrition as a career. I wanted the best for him and wanted to learn everything I could to support his growing body, and so I did!
In my free time, I love working out, learning about myself and others through self-help-traveled books, exploring new areas in my city, being by the ocean, and baking! I love turning something unhealthy into something healthy :) I have travelled to many countries around the world, with India being one of my favorites! I am also getting into yoga now, and can hopefully accomplish my lifelong goal of doing the splits one day (don't hold your breath though ;)
It is my philosophy that fitness is a lifestyle, not just an activity. To get fit and stay healthy requires a personal effort, a personal program, proper eating habits, and a positive mind. What you believe about yourself is a vital part of achieving your fitness goals! I want to consider all the obstacles that may keep you from healthy living, including your state of mind. Sometimes the hardest weight to lose is the emotional and mental kind.
